The following is an in-depth guide for the third area of Metroid.
Go down in this room and you'll find a Zeela, a new type of enemy.
These guys are very similar to Zoomers, so they shouldn't be that big of a deal. Go into the first red door on the right that you find. in here, you'll find Geegas.
These guys will shoot at you. but they won't be that hard to avoid. Grab the missiles here and then go back on to the left and then through the left most blue door. Here, you have to bomb through the wall and go through. Here, you'll find a Sidehopper.
These guys hop around on the ground, but they can also stick to the ceilings and floors whenever they want. If these guys get stuck in a specific spot, then they shouldn't be that big of a deal. Grab the missiles and then head back right and out of here. Go down a bit and through the right red door with your missiles. Head right and bomb through the wall to get to an area with an energy tank inside. Grab it. Go back left and go through the upper hole in the wall. Go left through the blue door and keep heading left. Fall through the fake lava in the ground and reach the very bottom of this hole. Head right through three doors to get to a door with some missiles inside. Go back left through a red door, and bomb right directly below the blue door on the left. Head right through another door to find Mini-Kraid.
You should just be able to walk up to him and shoot a few missiles to defeat him quickly. Obviously, this isn't the real Kraid, so you're going to have to keep looking. Keep heading to the right until you find a blue door. In here, shoot through the ground and head to the left to find Kraid.
This is Kraid. There are a few strategies you can use against Kraid, but the best one is to go straight up against it and use missiles until he dies. You'll probably lose at least half of your HP doing this. To save on missiles, beware of when the spikes on his belly show, as this will block all attacks. Eventually, Kraid will go down. After defeating Kraid, you're missile max will increase by 75. Through the right hole on the screen, there's a breakable block with an Energy Tank inside that you can get. Once you get it, head right until you reach a shaft. In here, there's a long line of breakable blocks. This is the only way to get up. You have to shoot a spot on it to stand, shoot upwards while constantly jumping, hoping that the blocks will reform so that you can get up. This may take a while. Once you get to the top, go through the lower door on the left to find a missile expansion. Go out and up through the upper door. Head left on this path until you get to the central shaft you started at. Here, there's a Zeela you can freeze to get up, or you can freeze the Ripper. If you have the Wave Beam instead of the Ice Beam, fall down to the bottom and use the door on the left to follow along a series of doors to get back up. Head to the elevator to leave Kraid's Hideout. Now, go back to Norfair. Head to the first right door you see and keep going right until you reach a shaft. Bomb down the floor and fall down to the bottom of the shaft. go into the door on the left. Go all the way left through the door, fall down and go right through the door, and down the ladder to enter Ridley's Hideout.
