The following is an in-depth guide for the star cup of Mario Kart 64.
This track is pretty long compared to the others. The track is mainly 90 degree turns, but there are many bumps and other things you'll have to worry about. Make sure you're going full speed at the bumps, as otherwise you'll have to redo a large portion of the stage all over again. The last turn you can take pretty sharp to over take the CPUs if needed, otherwise just play the track normally.
This track is a large ice structure with some water in the middle. If you fall in the water, then Lakitu will have to pick you back up again. At a few turns, you can hop over the water cracks to take the turn a bit faster. During the middle of the race, you'll enter a cave with a bunch of penguins inside. The penguins will spin you out if you touch them, so a good recommendation is to stay on the left side to avoid them. On the final pillar with penguins, you can choose which side to go on depending on which side the penguin is on.
This track has a pretty narrow track, so you want to make sure you stay on it at all times. In the middle of the race, there will be a big jump that will take you over the water. Take this jump as fast as you can. If you have a mushroom, you can cut one of the final turns by using it into the grass through the trees into the other side. There are also some other small time saves you can make with a mushroom.
This track has a lot of variety, so you'll be dealing with something different at every turn. There is going to be some thwomps. These will spin you out if you run into them two fast. Some of them go up and down, other's go left and right. There are also a lot of pits on the last stone section right before when the finish line comes around. Otherwise, a mushroom can be used to cut off the grass on the first turn.
