The following is an in-depth guide for the First "Your Sanctuary" location of EarthBound.
♪Sunrise & Onett Theme♪
Go south from the main house area to enter Onett. before you go down into the main area, go into the library and talk to the front desk for a town map. Go north and left of the library to find a house sticking out of the trees. Go into the little indent in the trees and go up to reach a treehouse. Talk to the first kid to get the Mr. Baseball Cap!
Head to the drugstore in town and buy the Tee Ball Bat and the Cheap Bracelet. Sell your Cracked Bat. Look around in the trash cans for some useful items. Go to the burger shop and buy several burgers. You're going to want to return here several times throughout this first area for healing items. Go south the arcade and battle against the sharks outside.

You should be grinding at these enemies for a while, until your about level 7. Grab some hamburgers and go into the arcade. Once your inside, fight against the sharks on the first and second floors. When your ready, fight the Yes Man Junior blocking the back door. Then go through the door to fight Frank.

Use PSI Rockin if you need and bash. If your health drops below around 45 HP, heal with your hamburgers. He should go down fairly quickly, and then he'll send out Frankystein Mark II.

Keep bashing and healing if you need to, using PSI Rockin if you need. If he blows steam, he'll probably be attacking soon, so you can defend if you need to. Keep using PSI Rockin and attacking him and he'll go down. After you defeat him, Frank will talk to you. He'll be here behind the arcade to heal you if you ever need it. Now that you beat Frank, the sharks will be off the streets and you can traverse safely. Previously, the key to get to Giant Step was held by the mayor. Now that you beat Frank, head to the Town Hall and talk to the mayor to get the Key to the Shack. Go northwest to a locked shack and unlock it using your new key. The guys in red nearby will give you a Travel Charm that will defend you against Paralysis. You can put it on if you want to. Head through the shack and through the cave to get to Giant Step.

There are several very difficult enemies in this area.

These enemies can be very, very tough. I recommend going back out to get hamburgers every once in a while. You might be stuck on these guys for a long time. The Attack Slugs come in groups and are fairly easy, netting a large amount of EXP for you. The Black Antoids and Rowdy Mice are tough. The Rowdy Mice have an insane Guts stat, so they'll deal plenty of critical hits to the player. Again, these enemies are very tough and you may want to keep going out to get hamburgers every once in a while. Go through the cave entrance in the north for a Skip Sandwich. Climb the rope. Go to the right and enter the next tunnel for a Cold Remedy. Go out to the main cave and up the rope and through the cave exit. This will take you outside. There should be a Magic Butterfly here that will replenish your PP, so make sure to heal before you touch it. Go back in through the other entrance. Continue on, climbing two more ropes until you reach the your sanctuary location boss, Titanic Ant.

When the battle starts use PSI Rockin until you run out of PP. This is not only because the Titanic Ant has PSI Magnet but there are Black Antoids that show up at the beginning of the fight that can heal the Ant. After that, keep bashing the Titanic Ant and healing with your burgers until he dies. Once he dies, exit through the new door and go towards the footprint to record the first "Your Sanctuary" melody on your sound stone.
