AP/IB Language and Composition is an introductory college-level composition course. Students cultivate their understanding of writing and rhetorical arguments through reading, analyzing, and writing texts as they explore topics like rhetorical situation, claims and evidence, reasoning and organization, and style. In addition to teaching various skills that are needed for the AP English Language and Composition Examination, students will be focusing on IB topics that are nearly identical to the topics that are focused in the AP examination.
Students will become familiar with American Literature from the colonial period up to modern literature that will engage the students in a higher level of thinking in which they analyze and create insightful comments based on the works that they study.
Some of the works that have been studied in the past are:
