Inclusive Preschool

Supporting young children and their families during Covid-19

Gatepath is an organization that empowers children, youth and adults with special needs to reach their full potential. They provide services through community partnership, innovative and inclusive programs. One of the services that they provide is free developmental screening for your child. Additionally, they also provide therapy, preschool services, and school readiness along with many other services. According to Gatepath, it is important and highly recommended for children to have their development screening before 5 years old so they can have early intervention. Early intervention is important to be able to enhance the child's development as a whole from an early age (https://www.gatepath.org/screenmychild).

Unfortunately similar to many other services Gatepath has been impacted by the pandemic. They have been forced remote learning and services experience. Some of their online services are tele-therapy, developmental screening for children in English and Spanish, virtual support groups, teachers are doing virtual circle time as well as sharing activities to support the learning at home experience. This organization has adapted to the circumstances and continue to support their clients and community. (https://www.gatepath.org/COVID-19).
