A 72 hour hackathon focused on integrating technology with performance.
A short scene inspired by the original work of Oedipus Rex. It is written in a similar style and imagines what might have occurred had Oedipus fled from the palace at the end of the play rather than cutting out his eyes and immediately dying.
I made a three dimensional model of the MIT Music and Theater Arts black box theater using two dimensional pieces that were laser cut from foamboard. To the left is the Vectorworks file for cutting and engraving the pieces. The picture below that shows what the model looked like when assembled. The final picture shows a view of the model set observed from the side panel.

This project was born from a projection design assignment to create a story about a magic object using a short throw projector.

Note: This was recorded over zoom and in the last 3 seconds the screen freezes. The performance ends with the actor donning the hat and exiting, leaving the room as it started, but without any hat.
