Fluid Statics Instruction Lesson

Summer 2023

For the summer of 2023, I worked for MIT's Women in Technology Program for providing high schoolers an introduction to Mechanical Engineering subjects and encouraging underrepresented genders in STEM fields to feel competent and empowered to join engineering disciplines. I taught 90 minute classes on energy and fluids to classes of 20-30 high school students as well as supported small group work for groups of 5-6 students as they worked to solve problems on materials, trajectories, torque, design, statics, heat transfer, and circuits. 

For the fluids class, I crafted a curriculum for teaching fluid statics. I wrote and recorded a lecture video as an introduction to the content. I also designed practice questions for students to work though in groups of 2-4 to help reinforce their learning.
