WHO WE ARE:
Jennifer: I am a proud mother of two grown boys and a Spanish teacher of levels 1-AP in an urban suburb of Detroit. I am also Department Chair of World Languages.
Gabe: I am a Kindergarten through 12th Grade music teacher in San Antonio, TX.
We both worked collaboratively on this project. We both experienced how to use new and existing applications and to apply them to our project.
OUR PARTNERSHIP: All dyad partners check in regularly with each other during the week to offer collaborative feedback and support on your design studio project. However, you have choices in the goal of your collaborative work. How will you collaborate with your dyad partner this week? Choose one and delete the rest... Will you....
Option 1: Collaboratively brainstorm ideas to create and publish the same remote lesson
Provide a brief description of the context in which you work and your learners to help readers better understand the unique work that evolves from your collaboration.
Gabe 1 CONTEXT & LEARNERS: K-12 (Private School); Music K-12

THE PURPOSE OF OUR INQUIRY: How is music significant to one's culture.
LESSON SUMMARY: Students will collaborate to create a Padlet and Word Cloud that includes photos, videos or other images as well as music files (links too) and will share their own celebrations with the class.
TEACHING GOALS: Real time: Teach kids how to use Padlet/Word Cloud using Screencastify. Demonstrate using by creating my own Padlet/Word Cloud. In addition have written directions available for Anytime learning and creation.
LEARNING OUTCOMES: Students will know how to use Padlet/Word Cloud, they will increase their awareness of various cultural celebrations and the music involved. They will be able to collaborate with a classmate with a different celebration to compare and contrast them. In addition to stated objectives for World Language and Music curriculum's.
TEXTS/TOOLS/TECHNOLOGIES AND RATIONALE: Students will use Google/Youtube to research and obtain images and audio. Google/Youtube are a good general search method for information and audio. They will use Padlet because this project is visual and auditory and annotation is available for easy use.
This Inquiry Plan Template documents our planning and learning this week.
[You may decide to outline key elements of your work below, or you can simply delete the next text box and point readers directly to your inquiry plan. Once your homeroom leader knows how you will work with your partner, they can help create separate inquiry plan templates for each person if needed.]
