Jami Rhue's CONTEXT & LEARNERS:
As school librarians, Tricia and I understand that in this virtual world of education we need to have an online presence that provides access to our school patrons, colleagues, and family members in regards to library resources, teacher supports, and how-to demos to navigate online successfully and independently.
Tricia McGann's CONTEXT AND LEARNERS:
Tricia is creating a slide deck to introduce new eBooks to teachers, students and parents in an effort to increase the use of our virtual library. The books can be enjoyed in remote and in-person classrooms and during independent reading done at home.
THE PURPOSE OF OUR INQUIRY: We are focused on enabling our school community to be able to easily and virtually access online resources.
LESSON SUMMARY: Anytime: The resources we are creating can be accessed at any time. Real-Time: Meet virtually to demonstrate and explore the resources we created while allowing for questions and comments.
TEACHING GOALS: Tricia's goal is to show students, teachers and parents how to find and read eBooks so they can read them in and out of school. They can learn this in real-time by attending the virtual meeting. Alternatively, they can learn this anytime by watching the recording of the meeting or exploring the deck on their own. Jami's goal is for students, teachers, and parents to learn how to interact with each Special Area (SA) teacher's website for class information and coursework interactions.
LEARNING OUTCOMES: Tricia: Students will be able to access eBooks and other library resources.
Jami: Students will be able to navigate SA teacher websites successfully
TEXTS/TOOLS/TECHNOLOGIES AND RATIONALE: Google Sites, Google Slides, eBooks, Google Forms, Wakelet or Padlet, Google Classroom, Brain POP, and typing.com.
