should i go? is my homage to my inspirations and the artists I grew up listening to. Various moments across the EP are direct references to different artists and songs that are meaningful to me as a person as well as a producer. These are the songs that have impacted me throughout my life, and on this project I want to showcase my gratitude to my inspirations. It is because of these artists that I find myself creating art, and this project is my best attempt at honoring their craft.
This EP focuses on a story of finding love with someone or something, particularly a passion, and chasing after it - going through the euphoria and thrill of it to ultimately crashing out. We end with a question that shouts out into the oblivion - “should i go?”. Should I stay and be safe, or should I go and chase after what I love

When writing the tracks for should i go?, I did a lot of reflecting upon where I am in life and where I want to be. I think a common factor in the stories of these tracks are that they’re about passion and chasing after something you really love, whether that be a person or a dream. It was right around the time we started working on this project that I decided I really did want to pursue a music career, so I think my lyrics just happened to follow that narrative.
should i go? as a track and the EP as a whole are about choosing to stay. I tried to let the lyrics stay a little vague and open to the interpretation of the listener, so you can decide whether you stay or go, and where you choose to stay or go as you listen, but for me, it’s about choosing to stay in music. Starting from falling in love, to trusting myself, to the acceptance of the chasing and falling and landing and having to decide whether I give it up now or keep going, I think I’m finally at a place where I can give myself enough grace to pursue the career that I’ve always wanted.
