TUESDAY 3RD DECEMBER 2024
Today we were entertained by a concert from our own group the Shellcity Ukes. This is a group of our U3A members who have discovered the joy of playing the ukulele. Most of us have had no prior experience with the instrument but were ably led by firstly Marta Venegas and most recently by Rob Druce. It's a happy little instrument and we've had fun learning about it every week for the last two terms.
This is just a taste of today's concert with the traditional ukulele favourite - 'You are my Sunshine'.
We are considering perhaps taking bookings for more gigs in the future!

Swinging, Singing, Quizzing 60s - Tuesday 5th December 2023
This was the final 'talk' for the year and at the Warrigal Warilla venue. Clare Farrell and Kevin Fuller provided a full afternoon of entertainment with a look back at the 1960s. There was a short talk on the Vietnam War and then a shift change to Sport, Trends, People We Lost, Movies and TV Shows of the 1960s. Lots of audience participation with quizzing and singing especially the final song Pretty Woman. A very enjoyable afternoon to end the year. Click on the arrow to play the short video below.
On Tuesday 29th August .... if you weren't there, you missed out on a great presentation by Kevin Fuller "Awake in Fright'' about his first posting out of Teacher College to Cavan near Wentworth in the remote outback of NSW.
Then we had a very entertaining rendition of Banjo Patterson's Man from Iron Bark by our own members Gwen and Norm Burke - ably assisted by Bob Prosser, Peter Tecles and a few other 'gilded' U3A members (Kevin Fuller, Julie Drysdale and Pam O'Leary).
