All about the 2024 holiday ... from President Kevin.
Who knew that a bus trip with thirty something other seniors could be so enjoyable? I do, now! No driving, no getting lost no fighting with sat-nav. No deciding where to stay and where to eat. No shortage of great company to share your experience with!
Who knew that in the middle of the countryside is an amazing wildlife park where you can get up close and personal with lions and giraffes, meerkats and crocodiles?
Who knew that the region produces three important food groups – wine, chocolate and cheese? We enjoyed generous tastings of each, and bought goodies to enjoy at home.
Who knew that 20 people could squeeze into a small bus constructed mainly of corrugated iron? It was a feat, but once on board we were treated to a tour of an irrigated farm growing oranges grapes and plums (for prunes). More tastings and purchases at the farm shop, yum.
Who knew that Monte Cristo Historical Homestead is purported to be haunted? No spooks in residence a on the day of our visit. We also visited the beautiful Rosewood Park on Stokes. Hard to believe that this 3 acre park like garden is tended by only one couple – and not a weed to be seen.
Who knew that over 300 locals in Griffith got together and created an incredible soft sculptured curtain. This work of art took 12 months to complete and demonstrates what is possible when people work together on a project.
Who knew that our PM has an identical twin brother who drives busses for Federation Tours? Or was it the real Albo, moonlighting?
Who knew that Di and Pam organise great holidays?
All of us!
Have a look at the record of an amazing holiday and work your way the image carousels.
A great time was had by all.
