Set off on a unique journey to explore the current and future of the Illawarra’s gateway to
the world. Join us for an exclusive tour of Port Kembla, a key hub connecting our region
to global trade.
Meet at Coniston Hotel (opp Railway Station) at 11.45am for lunch (at own cost)
At 1pm we will be picked up at Coniston Railway Station by a “Port” bus to be driven to
Port Kembla for our tour.
• Start at the Visitor Centre for an introduction, then hop on the tour bus with a
quick stop at Greenhouse Park to get a bird’s-eye view of the port.
• Check out the Inner Harbour, home to major operations like the Port Kembla
Coal Terminal (NSW’s second largest), Grain Terminals, the state’s biggest
motor vehicle import hub, key to supporting industries like automotive,
mining, agriculture, manufacturing, and construction.
• Get a glimpse of the Steelworks and hear about the steel industry.
CENTENARY HALL TEMPORARY CLOSURE
Centenary Hall will be closed from the 5th September to the 14th September due to the Kiama bi- election. This will mean that there will be no table tennis on the 8th September.
NOTICE OF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING
TUESDAY 9th SEPTEMBER 2025 - CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS
Members are invited to attend a Special General Meeting to be held at 3.30pm on Tuesday the 9th of September 2025 at Oak Flats Neighbourhood Centre, 44 Fisher Street, Oak Flats 2529. The purpose and only agenda item of the Special General Meeting is to adopt the proposed amendments to the constitution and revised by-laws.
It has been 14 years since the constitution and the by-laws were reviewed. With changes in circumstances and technology an update to both documents is appropriate. Members will shortly be issued with relevant documentation to easily compare and see the proposed updates. There will also be a hard copy of both the current and updated versions of all documents available for perusal and comment at the hall from Tuesday 19th August 2025.

U3A NSW CONFERENCE REPORT & LINK
