Mainly used to specify the worthiness of a product

By default tally has created only one currency. (INR)

In tally to create currency symbol, we have to used ASCII Value

ASCII = American Standard Code for Information Interchange

ASCII Value Symbol Formal Name

Alt+156 (Numeric Key pad) £ UK Pound

Alt+157 (Numeric key pad) ¥ Japan Yen

Alt+0128 (Numeric Key pad) € Europe Euros

Shift+4 (Alpha Numeric) $ US Dollar

How to create Currency:

1. GWT ==> Create ==> Currency ==> press Enter key for Create new

Symbol : Type Ascii value

Formal Name : Type formal name  (Mentioned above)

ISO Currency Code : Type Ascii Value

No of Decimal Places : 2

Show amt in millions : No

suffix symbol to amount : No

Add space b/w amt & symbol : No

Press Ctrl+A

Display of Currencies:

2. GWT ==> Alter ==> Currency ==> Displayed all created currency

Delete Currencies:

3. GWT==> Alter ==> Currency ==> Select Unwanted Currency ==> 

Press Enter key ==> Use Alt+D to delete

Rate of Exchange:

4. GWT ==> Create ==> Rate of Exchange ==> Enter Date for ROE

(ROE =  Rate of Exchange)

Currency Std Selling Rate Buying Rate

     $ 75 Press enter Press enter

     £ 80 Press Enter Press enter

     ¥ 35 Press Enter Press Enter

     € 85 Press Enter Press Enter

Press Ctrl+A or press Enter key to save it.
