Default Path

There are 2 Path in tally prime

1. Application Path: Where Tally Software installed 

2. Data path: Where Tally companies are saved or created.

Application Path: C:\Program files\Tallyprime

Data path: C:\Users\Public\Tallyprime\data

1. Open Tally Software

2. Click on Educational Mode

3. If any one of the company opened automatically

"Press Ctrl+F3" = To shutdown company

4. Select company Screen

Displayed List of companies, which are already created.

if company is belongs to you, Select then press enter key = to open

or

Select Create company option ==> Press Enter key = To create

NOTE:

1st 5 digits of the 1st company = 10000

2nd 5 digiits of the 2nd company =  10001

Last 5 digits of the last company = 99999

In tally, We can create 99999 companies.

We can Create company in two Ways: 

1. Secured company: TVP, and Security control

2. Unsecured company: Anybody can delete, and altered.

From Select company Screen==> Select Create company==> Press Enter key

use Tally Vault Password to encrypt company data = yes

use User access control  =  yes

Provide additional basecurrency details = yes

Security:

1. Set Tally Vault Password to encrypt company data = yes

Tally Vault Password = 123

Re enter TVP = 123

   2. Control User access to company data = yes

Username(administrator) = admin

password = 123

confirm password = 123

press Enter key for all the field of currency ==> press enter key for accept

Enter TVP == 123

user name = admin

Password = 123

press Ctrl+A  or Press enter key to save company

NOTE: Write down 5 Digit Number Generated by tally for created company.

GWT = Gateway of tally

Ctrl+F3 to shutdown (write 5 digits of the company)

5 digits helps to open company.

How to delete:

GWT ==> alt+k (Open Company Menu) ==> select alter ==>

Press enter key ==> Press Alt+D (To delete).

How to alter: 

GWT ==> alt+k (Open Company Menu) ==> select alter ==>

Press enter key ==> Enter address, contact details as needed. ==> press save

NOTE: Periods can't be altered

Backup and Restore

How to setup Backup path and Data path

1. Open Tally Prime ==> press Enter key for continue in Educational mode

2. Press Ctrl+F3 to shutdown company if any company opened automatically

3. From the Select company screen ==> Press Alt+Y (DATA)

4. Press enter key Data path

5. Select company backup path==> Press enter key ==>Select specify path

Press enter key ==>Type E:\TallyBackup without any space ==>Press enter key==>Select E:\Tallybackup ==>Press enter key.

6. Select Company data path ==> Press enter key ==>Select specify path

Press enter key ==>Type  C:\Users\Public\Tallyprime\data without any space ==>Press enter key==>Select  C:\Users\Public\Tallyprime\data ==>Press enter key.

7. Press 2 timesEsc key to comeout from the option

Backup:

1. Press Alt+Y (Data) ==> Backup

2. Select your company

3. press enter key for End list

4. Press Enter key for Accept

Restore:

1. Press Alt+Y (Data) ==> Restore

2. Select your company

3. press enter key for End list

4. Press Enter key for Accept

NOTE: after Restoring Close Tally software and open it again.
