8 Drama

MS Drama involves the exploration of body and/or vocal expression through the forms of characterisation, role-play, improvisation, puppetry and mask work. The second unit is always an exploration of functional communication (vocal delivery and body language) with the planning of a speech or persuasive film to a larger audience.

In MS Drama, students will work on Google Classroom for any written work, such as design, evaluation, planning and scriptwiting.

What happens in Drama 8?

Unit 8.1 Being a Character – Characterisation; creating believable characters physically and vocally

Unit 8.2 Speaking Body – Functional Communication; persuasive and informative speechmaking: infomercials, press conferences and TV announcing.

Unit 8.3 No Strings Attached – Puppetry & Storytelling; telling mythical stories to younger audiences by being puppeteers

Another alternating unit is Unit 8.4 Clowning Around – Comedy and Clowning; using body language, slapstick, props, tricks and routines to create comedy
