Advanced Drama involves the exploration of the history of theatre combined with the technical approach of particular drama theorists and/or directors. By exploring these histories and techniques both practically and theoretically, students will develop into competent theatre practitioners.
Advanced Drama is a mixed Grade Level class - units alternate in years between Year A and Year B:

Unit ADI-II.A2 - Drama Theorists: Experimenting with various theatre practitioners approach to staging
Unit ADI-II.A3 - Directing: Putting dramatic theories to practice by experimenting with directing scene work
Year B
Unit ADI-II.B - Ensemble: Creating a workable dramatic team through games and skill exercises

Unit ADI-II.B2 - Commedia Dell Arte: Comic Mask Performance from Renaissance Italy
Unit ADI-II.B3 - Solo Performance: Developing a solid character performance from text to stage
Advanced Drama is an excellent course for students wishing to pursue study or a career in advertising, communication, creative writing, film, law, radio, television, theatre not to mention event management – and this is only the tip of the iceberg!
