European Day of Languages 2025
On 26 September 2025, Colegiul Național “Gh. Lazăr” in Bucharest celebrated the European Day of Languages through a variety of creative and educational activities carried out within the Erasmus+ project.
Students designed interactive posters with QR codes, produced a “Did you know…?” vlog on linguistic diversity, explored similarities among Romance proverbs, and shared multilingual testimonials on the value of multilingualism.
French teachers attended professional workshops at the French Institute of Bucharest, while senior students participated in the open rehearsal of the play “Mondes” during the “Orizont Sonor” Festival.
The celebration concluded with a joyful school-wide dance to the 2025 European Day of Languages anthem, symbolising unity through linguistic and cultural diversity. Presentation by Teodora Nicolae, 11th grade.
International Heart Day
This activity, held at Colegiul Național "Gheorghe Lazăr" in Bucharest, is a presentation by students Istrate Maria and Stanciu Alesia on the occasion of International Heart Day, on September 29th. The main goals:
to raise awareness that cardiovascular disease is the number one killer worldwide, responsible for over 18 million deaths annually;
to educate about the fact that over 80% of premature heart disease is preventable;
to promote simple heart-healthy habits such as eating more fruits and vegetables, exercising for at least 30 minutes a day, avoiding smoking, and managing stress.
Message: “Take care of this incredible engine – your heart – it’s the only one you’ve got!”

The challenge for the Romanian team was to walk 1,450 km between two mobilities (April–October) to promote healthy lifestyles, environmental awareness, and teamwork among students.
No Car Day

As part of the “Prendre soin de nous” activity, students created posters and gave short presentations on various topics related to personal well-being and healthy living. The themes included healthy eating, obesity prevention, the dangers of smoking, the importance of wearing glasses when needed, getting enough restful sleep, and maintaining good mental health.
Through these activities, students learned how everyday habits influence both physical and mental balance, and they encouraged their peers to make healthier lifestyle choices.
