Project VISION

”Shaping Global Citizens” is a European school project* carried out in the period 2024-2026 in the thematic area of eco-citizenship and sustainability designed to contribute to the creation of a sustainable citizenship mindset among today's students.

OUr Goal

The overarching aim of the project is to empower aware, committed, and proactive ‘global citizens’ through the acquisition and practical application of tailored pedagogical tools. In light of urgent global sustainability challenges, our initiative supports young people in cultivating a responsible mindset — enabling them to take care of themselves, others, and the planet.

The core objective is to raise students' awareness and inspire positive behaviour change by equipping them with critical skills, values, and experiential learning across these three dimensions. To underpin this transformation, the project provides a comprehensive Teacher’s Guide alongside a reflective Students' Guide, offering educators actionable methodologies while supporting learners with practical tools and reflective prompts to embed sustainability and civic engagement into everyday life.

Project Deliverables

The tangible outputs of the project form a cohesive pedagogical suite, anchored by our officially published, ISBN-registered teacher’s book — Learn Globally. Act Locally. Teach with Impact — and complemented by the students' workbook You, Me and the Planet and the adapted Erasmus+ Inclusive Journal, together offering a complete, open-access toolkit for schools across Europe.

Teacher's Guide

Published by Editura Atelier Didactic / CCD București (ISBN 978-630-6687-30-5), this 200-page teacher’s book offers 31 tested, UDL-grounded lessons.

This pedagogical volume provides a robust didactic framework complete with photocopiable classroom materials, differentiation strategies, and assessment matrices. While preserved as a physical educational volume distributed to institutional partners, the work is formally registered as an Open Educational Resource under a Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 licence, granting educators full legal rights to adopt, adapt, and teach its methodologies across Europe and beyond.

Students' Guide

You, Me and the Planet

A student-led reflective workbook for secondary learners, bridging self-awareness, social empathy, and local eco-action.

Co-created by the students themselves across our six European partner schools, this hands-on companion guides peers through personal habit tracking, community inquiry, and sustainability challenges.

Registered as an Open Educational Resource (CC BY 4.0), it translates European values into active citizenship for everyday school and community life.

Inclusive Journal

An applied SEN adaptation compendium, bridging differentiated learning with active sustainability practices.

Developed collaboratively to ensure equitable access, this practical resource gathers sensory adaptations, visual aids, and scaffolded sequences designed for learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Tested across partner schools and shared as an Open Educational Resource (CC BY 4.0), it equips educators to leave no learner behind in global citizenship education.

Many of the challenges addressed by the project are shared across the partner countries, yet distinct local contexts have enriched our collective reflection and fostered balanced solutions — some universally applicable, others tailored to specific national realities. Working in synergy has enabled us to generate rigorous comparative insights and propose practical methodologies adaptable to diverse educational environments.

The experiential learning gained through cross-border mobilities continues to exert a lasting impact on the attitudes, civic awareness, and daily habits of the young people involved. This European dimension has proved indispensable: pursued solely within a national or regional framework, the initiative would have lacked the distinct European added value that defines its outcomes.
