On November 5, 1972, Seventh District Elementary School held a Dedication Day celebration. This event was to celebrate the opening of the new school.
The new school was built on the grounds of the old school that was lost in a fire two years prior. The new school incorporated parts of the old school that were not damaged in the fire.
These areas were the office, gym and cafeteria. These three areas were built only one year before the fire.
Many years have come and gone,
Many generations have passed on.
First seventh district stood out of stone,
Then the tragic fire left us alone.
On we went with one goal in mind,
With plans I knew you could find.
Principal and teachers on duty each day,
Students at work and sometimes play.
Now our banner is raised high,
Blue and gold to catch her eye,
Something old and something new,
Something borrowed and something blue.
We borrowed golden principles from the past,
To be used in a new school which should last.
Here it sits beneath skies so blue,
Our seventh district is a part of you.
