Would You Die With Me 6⭐
Main Characters:
Noah Sorensen
Kaj Larsen
“No matter how many parallel universes existed, they would always belong together. Because you can’t have shadows without light. Good without evil. Relief without suffering.”
I’m usually generous with my ratings, but there’s one thing I’m extremely picky about: my 6-star ratings, reserved only for my god-tier books. This one earned it without question 💯💯
I read this entire duology in three days—right before my finals—because I physically could not stop. Studying became irrelevant; my only priority was getting Noah and Kaj their happy ending. Almost three weeks have passed since then, and I’m still struggling to write a review that conveys even a fraction of how impeccable this book is 🤩🤩
In case it wasn’t obvious: I am OBSESSED 😍😍 I have thought about nothing but Noah and Kaj for weeks. They are going to live in my head forever. I genuinely don’t know how I’m supposed to move on and read another book without comparing it to them 🤷♀️🤷♀️
Would You Die With Me? picks up eight years after the end of the first book. Noah and Kaj have been living separate lives—until Artificial Suicide needs a new vocalist. Once again, fate forces their paths to cross, reopening old wounds, unresolved resentment, and feelings that never truly faded. Time hasn’t softened the tension between them; if anything, the yearning still burns just as fiercely. This book follows them as they navigate their past, their present, and the possibility of a future together under an entirely new dynamic.
One of the reasons this story hit me so deeply is because Noah and Kaj feel real. They make mistakes. They live with the consequences. They are messy, flawed, and painfully human—and that’s what makes them so precious 💖💖
“Learning everything Kaj had gone through—how utterly alone and lonely he’d been—was, nevertheless, the deepest of all his wounds.”
This book is the first one—but somehow ten times better 🔥🔥 I will never be the same person again. These boys altered my brain chemistry. From the very beginning, it’s clear how much both Noah and Kaj have grown—especially Noah. Watching the shy, soft boy we once knew evolve into a confident man who understands his boundaries, knows what he wants, and isn’t afraid to take control was incredibly satisfying 😎😎 He was exactly what Kaj needed. This version of Noah teases Kaj, pushes his buttons, and refuses to let him hide behind sex or his asshole behavior. He completely flips their old dynamic in the best way, and I was smiling like an idiot the entire time… at least whenever I wasn’t crying.
“It had taken him forever to forget Noah, and still he knew it was just a carefully woven net of lies. How did anyone fully get over what they had? How did anyone let go of the only glimpse of happiness they’d ever had?”
Kaj is still broken, but you can see how hard he’s trying to heal. He’s the same Kaj at his core, just buried beneath so many layers of pain 😭😭 The constant suffering he lives with, the trauma he carries, and his drug addiction that we witnessed at the end of the first book are all still there. But this time, despite failing before, he’s determined to get better. Seeing his progress meant everything to me. I’m also deeply grateful that this book doesn’t rely on the “Love Heals Everything” cliché I despise—Kaj sees a therapist, and healing is shown as a slow, messy, and real process 🙏🙏
People say time heals, but for him, that was bullshit. Time only helps you learn how to deal with your ghosts. It helps you befriend them despite the pain they cause, because accepting that darkness is the only way to survive.
Reading Kaj’s trauma from his POV was devastating 😱😱 Even though I suspected what had happened, witnessing it firsthand felt like being stabbed over and over again 😭😭 Telling the story from Kaj’s POV was an amazing decision, as it exposes his inner struggles and shows the real person hiding behind his carefully built walls.
“If I were to die , would you die with me?” “Yes.” Noah didn’t even hesitate. “I would die for you. I would kill for you.” He clutched Kaj’s wrist with both hands, holding onto reality — onto them. “You’re my fucking everything, Kaj. Remember? Always and forever.“
Noah and Kaj together are breathtaking 😍😍 They feel inevitable. No matter how much time passes or how far they drift, they were always going to find their way back to each other 💘💘 I never doubted them—not for a second. They are soulmates. They are endgame. Every scene they shared was perfection, and they deserved their happily ever after more than anyone.
The new side characters were amazing, and the band dynamic was so much fun to read 🤣🤣 The author did an incredible job with the rockstar aspect—practices, tours, and interviews all felt natural and real, not like a trope added just to fill space. I honestly preferred Aksel and Xander over Val and Theo; even though Kaj pushed them away, he needed them, and they weren’t there when it mattered most. I’m glad they’re in a better place now, but it still stings 🤷🤷 And Trine—god, I love that woman. Her reunion with Kaj made me cry like an idiot; they’re so lovable together 😭😭 As for Jesper and Katja… if I start on them, this review will never end. I hate them with everything in me. They can burn in hell forever 🤬🤬
This book was a masterpiece. It was my first series by this author, and it definitely won’t be my last. Thank you, L.A. Cannon, for giving us Noah and Kaj. Here are a few quotes I couldn’t find a place for in the review:
As the comforting, familiar scent surrounding him and the gentle rhythm of Noah’s breathing lulled Kaj, the tension slowly drained from his body. Just before sleep claimed him, Kaj allowed himself a moment of honesty — here in his arms, he felt safe.
“Fuck, babe…” Noah’s thumbs brushed over his jaw as his hands slid to his neck. “I don’t know what it is, but please, stop hiding from this, from us. Stop pushing me away. We both know this isn’t ‘just sex’ anymore. It hasn’t been in a while. Don’t shut me out. Not again, please.”
Without fear — no matter if he got burned — Noah could finally admit that they were two missing halves of the same entity yearning to find each other again.
Because his wounds and imperfections were part of his history but didn’t define who he was. Because broken things could also be beautiful.
“Thank you for trusting me.” “Thank you for keeping me safe,” he whispered back “Always.” He kissed his lips.
No woman. No man. Not the best orgasm in his life. Nothing had ever felt so good as having this man all to himself, and he wasn’t ready for this moment to end yet.
