Oxford Park station opened in 1918 when the line was extended from Enoggera to Samford and it was extended again to Dayboro in 1920 which was truncated to Ferny Grove in 1955. The line was electrified to on 17 November 1979. In 2008, the station was upgraded as part of the Mitchelton to Keperra duplication which included a new platform and footbridge.
Oxford Park was named after the surrounding housing estate with the same name.
