I visited Loganlea station on 25 February 2018.
Loganlea is located on the Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines and is served by all train services travelling from Beenleigh and Varsity Lakes to Bowen Hills with many continuing to Domestic Terminal and Ferny Grove. Loganlea is located 31.5 km from Roma Street and the approximate travel time is 52 minutes by catching a Beenleigh line service or 38 minutes by catching a express Gold Coast line service.
Loganlea is situated in zone 3 meaning the fares between Loganlea and Roma Street are:
Loganlea station opened in July 1885 at the same time as the line. It was originally used to load freight for the local timber industry. In 1936, the station was severely damaged by a cyclone. On 3 November 1984, the line was electrified from Kingston to Beenleigh. On 21 April 1992, a second platform opened as part of the duplication of the line.
Loganlea serves the homonymous suburb of Loganlea. It was named after Captain Patrick Logan who was the commandant of the Moreton Bay Penal Settlement from 1826 until his death in 1830.
Loganlea station itself has two platforms consisting of two side platforms. Platform 1 is for outbound services, platform 2 is for inbound services.
Loganlea station has four station entrances. Two are from the carpark on Station Road and two are from the carpark on Armstrong Road.
Loganlea station does have disability access however assistance is required due to the steep ramp.
There is a bus stop nearby on Station Road serving nearby suburbs. The routes that serve Loganlea are routes 560, 562, 564 and 568.
