While there is no record it is believed that Elimbah station first opened in 1890 when the section of the North Coast Line from Caboolture to Landsborough opened. On 28 April 1988, the line was electrified between Caboolture and Nambour. On 14 April 2009, a new station opened as a result of the Caboolture to Beerburrum duplication project.
Elimbah serves the homonymous town of Elimbah. It is believed that the name comes from the word from the local indigenous tribe ‘Kabi Kabi’ describing the habitat of a water snake.
The station itself has two platforms consisting of two side platforms. Platform one is for inbound services while platform two is for outbound services.
Elimbah station has two station entrance at the carpark. One is from the carpark at the corner of Lynch Street and English Street and the other is on Rose Creek Road.
Elimbah station does have disability access.
There is a bus stop outside the station in the carpark at the corner of Lynch Street and English Street. It is served by the 649 Caboolture to Nambour railbus which supplements the train timetable.
