It is believed that Bald Hills station opened 1 March 1888 at the same time as the line. In 1917 the line was duplicated from Northgate to Caboolture. On 23 April 1983 the line was electrified from Northgate to Petrie. On 28 August 2000, a third platform opened as part of the addition of a third track from Northgate to just west of the station. The following year the third track was extended to Lawnton.
Bald Hills station serves the homonymous suburb of Bald Hills which was named after two hills in the area with no vegetation.
Bald Hills station has three platforms consisting of a side platform and an island platform. Platform 1 is used for inbound services and platform 3 is for outbound services. Platform 2 is only used for afternoon peak outbound services.
Bald Hills station has four entrances. Two are on Cullimore Street and two are on Miles Street
