Kindness Flower Greeting CArd
Grade Level: Kindergarten through First Grade
Overview: This project can be used in a kindergarten through first-grade classroom to teach kids about kindness. The project will focus on how kids can be kind. In this project, kids will make a greeting card that can light up and make music when you open it. On the inside of the card, students will write ways you can be kind. This will help build a community of kindness in the classroom.
Learning Objective: Students will be able to make a kindness greeting card that lights up and makes music when they open the card.
Supply List:
Card Stock
Markers
Circuit Playground
USB cord
Computer
Procedure:
Fold card stock paper in half to make a card.
Draw a flower on the inside of the card by tracing the circuit playground to make the center of the flower and then add flower pedals. Or you can have a flower printed on the cardstock to make the project easier for students.
Decorate the front of your card and the flower on the inside of the card.
Write down ways to be kind on each flower pedal.
After you are done making the card you can start coding the circuit playground
The code for the greeting card should look like the picture below. Make sure the light level is set to 20. Set the colors on the show ring to match the color of your flower pedals.
Set the circuit playground on your flower inside the card.
