Ida Ethelwynne Armstrong

Ida was born on the July 27th 1891 to John Dickinson and Amelia Armstrong of Botany Bay Farm, Selby. She was baptised 30th August 1891 at St Wilfred’s Parish Church, Brayton, the same church where she would eventually marry her husband Ernest Arthur White in the spring of 1922. In the summer of 1917, Ida volunteered as a kitchen assistant at the Darrington Auxiliary Military Hospital in Pontefract, helping to cook for recuperating soldiers of the First World War. She died in Staincliffe, Yorkshire, in 1980.
