Date Implemented: August 2025
Proponent: Mrs. Nazaria Romero, Araling Panlipunan Teacher III
To strengthen disaster awareness and preparedness among students, the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) Organization of Eastern Bacoor National High School, in partnership with the Araling Panlipunan (AP) Department, launched the Grade 10 Earthquake Drill Simulation Project as part of the students’ 1st Quarter performance task.
As part of the preparation, on August 6, 2025, the SDRRM Officers held a coordination meeting with the Araling Panlipunan 10 Teachers to discuss the project’s implementation plan, safety guidelines, and evaluation criteria. This meeting ensured clear communication and alignment between both teams prior to the conduct of the drills.
On August 8, 2025, the SDRRM Council, together with Mr. Jerico D. Castillo, SDRRM Deputy Chief, and Mrs. Nazaria Romero, AP Teacher III, held the Meeting of the Week — a focused planning and alignment session. During the meeting, both the SDRRM Council and the AP Department finalized logistics, refined timelines, and set clear directives for the execution of the Earthquake Drill Simulation Project. The meeting emphasized coordination, safety management, and the importance of student engagement in promoting preparedness.
Following these preparatory meetings, the first day of the Earthquake Drill Simulation was successfully conducted on August 15, 2025, during the regular AP period of each Grade 10 section. The activity was facilitated by SDRRM Officers and Members, assisted by Class Officers, and supervised by AP 10 Teachers.
Before performing the drill, students participated in a comprehensive orientation that covered:
The dos and don’ts before, during, and after an earthquake
Designated evacuation routes and assembly points
Proper classroom exit procedures
Post-evacuation safety reminders
Through this simulation, Grade 10 students demonstrated preparedness, discipline, and cooperation — vital traits for ensuring safety in times of disasters.
