The 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) marked the beginning of Eastern Bacoor National High School’s 2025 preparedness activities. Under the leadership of Mr. Danmar Mendez Barinque, then the SDRRM President, the drill aimed to strengthen the readiness of students and faculty in responding to earthquake emergencies through the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure.
Before the drill, a short orientation was conducted to remind class officers and teachers of the proper evacuation routes and designated assembly areas. The activity was executed successfully, showing strong cooperation among students, teachers, and school personnel. The event reinforced the importance of disaster preparedness and served as a foundation for improving response coordination in future drills.

The 2nd Quarter NSED was conducted successfully at Eastern Bacoor National High School, emphasizing the continued efforts to strengthen disaster readiness within the school community. The drill was led by Mr. Jerick R. Alvarez, who served as the Acting SDRRM Head at the time, showcasing his leadership in executing a smooth and organized activity.
Prior to the drill, a briefing was held to discuss the evacuation plan and safety measures. Although only the SSLG Officers assisted the SDRRM Council in facilitation, the drill remained well-coordinated, demonstrating effective communication and teamwork. The 2nd Quarter NSED highlighted the importance of leadership and cooperation even with limited manpower, reflecting Eastern BNHS’s resilience and preparedness.

The 3rd Quarter NSED was successfully conducted at Eastern Bacoor National High School with active participation from Grades 8 and 9 students. Prior to the drill, a briefing was held at the Conference Room, attended by Class Presidents and SDRRM Officers, and presided over by SDRRM President Mr. Jerick R. Alvarez, under the supervision of SDRRM Coordinator Mr. Jerico D. Castillo.
During the session, the School Evacuation Plan was thoroughly discussed, ensuring that participants knew what to do before, during, and after an earthquake. The drill was jointly facilitated by the SDRRM Council, with strong cooperation from BSP, YES-O, WINS Club, RCY, and SSLG Officers.
Participation Summary:
Grade 9: 531 out of 601 students (88.35%)
Grade 8: 616 out of 675 students (91.26%)
Overall Participation: 1,147 out of 1,276 students (89.89%)
The 3rd Quarter NSED reflected exceptional teamwork and preparedness, further upholding the organization’s guiding principle:

Before the conduct of the drill, a coordination meeting was held at the ICT Room, presided over by Mr. Jerick Alvarez, SDRRM President. The School Evacuation Plan was thoroughly reviewed and discussed with the Class Presidents of Grades 7 and 10 to ensure proper implementation and understanding of evacuation procedures.
This final quarter drill was efficiently organized and executed by the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) Officers and Council, in close partnership with the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) and youth organizations within the school.
Under the supervision of Sir Jerico D. Castillo, SDRRM Deputy Chief / Coordinator and Head Teacher III, and with the assistance of Ma’am Eve Mangahas, MAPEH Master Teacher II, the activity aimed to further enhance the preparedness and awareness of students and personnel in responding effectively during earthquake situations.
