The School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) Organization of Eastern Bacoor National High School became an official member of the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) of Bacoor on August 1, 2025, through the endorsement and guidance of the school’s Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) Adviser, Mrs. Wendyl Grace B. Ruz. This membership formally established the SDRRM’s participation in the city’s youth development network, enabling active collaboration with fellow youth organizations, the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Bacoor.
Before the official membership, the SDRRM Organization, represented by selected officers, participated in one of the LYDC’s early capacity-building initiatives—an Emergency Response Training on First Aid and Basic Life Support facilitated by the Philippine Red Cross in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan of Bacoor on July 30, 2025. Through this training, the SDRRM officers who attended were recognized as official members of Red Cross 143 – Bacoor, marking the organization’s first major external engagement in city-level emergency response programs.
The SDRRM Organization formally joined the LYDC’s youth network activities beginning with the LYDC Emergency Meeting held on August 9, 2025, in preparation for Linggo ng Kabataan 2025. Together with Eastern Bacoor NHS’s YES-O, SUMMA (Math Club), and Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), the SDRRM officers participated in the planning for various youth events including the Flag Raising Ceremony, Katipunan ng Kabataan ID Launch, Laro’t Saya sa Bacoor, and the Gawad Batang Bacooreño 2025, demonstrating their continuous mission of youth empowerment, environmental awareness, and community solidarity.
On August 11, 2025, the SDRRM President, along with the YES-O, SUMMA, and SSLG Presidents, proudly represented Eastern Bacoor National High School during the Flag Raising Ceremony organized by the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) and the SK Federation. The SDRRM President led the singing of the Philippine National Anthem during the ceremony, symbolizing the unity and leadership of Easternian youth organizations. After the event, the participating officers received their official LYDO shirts, recognizing their service and active participation as part of Bacoor’s citywide youth development movement. The event was attended by Mayor Strike B. Revilla, alongside the advisers of the participating school organizations, marking a proud moment of partnership between the youth sector and the local government.
Culminating the month’s youth celebration, the SDRRM Organization, along with YES-O, SUMMA Club, and SSLG, was formally recognized during the Gawad Batang Bacooreño 2025 held on August 30, 2025, at Revilla Hall, Bacoor City Hall. The recognition, conferred by the City Government of Bacoor and the Local Youth Development Office, acknowledged the organizations’ dedication, unity, and passion for community service and youth development. Represented by their respective presidents and advisers, the youth leaders of Eastern Bacoor NHS exemplified the institution’s core values of leadership, service, and preparedness.
Continuing its strong partnership with the council, the SDRRM Organization once again represented Eastern Bacoor NHS during the LYDC Meeting held on October 3, 2025, at the MSBR Hall, Bacoor Government Center. The organization was represented by Mr. Jerick Alvarez (President), Ms. Crizandra Bacuyag (Auditor), and Ms. Girlie Sancho (Alternate Deputy-Chief). The meeting, presided over by Ms. Angie Cariaso, LYDC Officer-in-Charge, focused on the upcoming youth programs and citywide events that the council would support and participate in.
On the same day, LYDC members were invited to tour the Strike TV Station, where they experienced the work of TV broadcasters and hosts—providing them with an enriching experience in media and communications. This opportunity symbolized a milestone for the SDRRM Organization and its fellow Easternian youth leaders, as they proudly carried the name of Eastern Bacoor National High School and represented not only their school but also the entire Bacoor youth sector.
The SDRRM Organization’s partnership with the Local Youth Development Council of Bacoor continues to serve as a platform for leadership development, collaboration, and civic engagement. Through this alliance, Eastern Bacoor NHS remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering the youth toward community service and disaster preparedness.
