A 1,550 mile (2,500 km) fence protects farmland in southeast Australia. What does it do? It gives protection to sheep and cattle living in its walls and it keeps wild dogs out. Its longer than the distance between Miami and Montreal.

big, bad.... bird!

A giant flightless bird, called the cassowary, calls Australia and New Zealand its home. It's considered the most dangerous bird in the world, because of its human-like size and dagger-like claws.

In 1893, the first women allowed to vote in a national election voted. They were called the kiwi women. New Zealand is also the first country to have women in its three top government positions and doing them simultaneously.
