Even though Egypt is known for its pyramids, it's not the only place in Africa you can find them. Sudan also has them and almost twice as many as Egypt. It has 200 pyramids and they date back 2,000 years!
Now that Africa is gaining better quality health care and more access to medicine, Africa's population is expected to more than double to at least 2.4 billion people by 2050!
Young women and girls have an interesting hobby. They weave brightly colored baskets from grass and straw that have become a trademark of African cultures. The baskets are used for food storage and decoration.
Three of the largest lakes in the world are in Africa. Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika, and Lake Malawi are found in the Great Rift Valley, which stretches from Ethiopia to Mozambique.
