Executive Team Bios

President

Name: Brad Stetson

Duties: Chair the Forum Senate, Executive Board, and General Membership meetings. Develop the agenda for these meetings. Attend Schoolcraft College Board of Trustees meetings. Maintain communications with Trustee members. Make regular contributions to the Forum Newsletter. Hold meetings with the leadership of other bargaining units on campus. Issue regular reports to the Senate and Executive Board. Coordinate with the Contract Enforcer to oversee professional problems, investigatory hearings, and discipline meetings. Develop new initiatives to grow and strengthen the local. Regularly meet with college administrators to present faculty concerns and ideas on policies and practices. Make faculty appointments to College committees. Generate, with assistance, an annual budget, for implementation. Represent the Forum at official Schoolcraft College functions and events. Keep abreast of political developments (national, state, and local) that have implications for the unit. Meet with faculty members to address their individual concerns.

Contract Enforcer

Duties: The Contract Enforcer serves as the chief negotiator for contract negotiations. The Contract Enforcer is also the point of contact for faculty when the contract is not being followed, or when there are questions about the contract.

The Contract Enforcer will act as a representative for faculty members during investigatory meetings and/or during the discipline process.

Vice President - Full-Time

Duties: Serve on the Forum Executive Board. Attend Forum Senate meetings. Provide regular reports to Senate and president regarding issues and news from the National Education Association (NEA). Provide feedback to president regarding issues of concern to the Forum. Act as a liaison between faculty and Executive Board. Assist in the staffing and oversight of Forum appointments to faculty committees. If more senior than part-time VP, assume presidential responsibilities (long-term or short-term) in his/her absence. Coordinate with the part-time VP to produce regular communications to Forum members. Serve as the Faculty Forum Professional Development Coordinator.


Vice President - Part-Time

Duties: Serve on the Forum Executive Board. Attend Forum Senate meetings. Provide regular reports to Senate and president regarding issues and news from the Michigan Education Association (MEA). Attend the Schoolcraft College Board of Trustees meetings. Provide feedback to president regarding issues of concern to the Forum. Act as a liaison between faculty and Executive Board. Additionally, the vice-president serves as a note taker when the secretary is absent from the Senate meetings. Manage, build, and e-mail the monthly newsletter.

Treasurer

Provide regular reports to Senate and President regarding the financial status of the Forum. The treasurer is charged with monitoring and recording the financial health of the Forum. Membership Chair is works to promote membership into the Faculty Forum and educate members on the value of our organization.
