Aim: To prepare a seedbox.
Materials: correct selection of hand tools, wooden seedbox (or an appropriate substitute), soap and water, disinfectant, organic matter (manure), sterilized soil, mulch, fine sieve.
Method:
To Prepare a Seedbox
Select an appropriate seedbox for the type of crop to be grown/ seed to be sown.
Take a picture of you holding the seedbox.
Clean the seedbox thoroughly of all soil.
Wash the seedbox with soap and water, if possible.
Disinfect the seedbox with disinfectant.
Collect the sterilized soil.
Mix the sterilized soil with the correct ratio of soil, sand and organic matter.
Lay down a thin layer of mulch at the bottom of the seedbox.
Fill the seedbox with the prepared planting medium.
Using a sieve, add a fine layer of sifted soil at the top of the soil.
Take a picture of you holding the prepared seedbox.
Clean tools and put in designated area(s).
