Artifact Description:
This is a scenario of a Curriculum Based Assessment that I "conducted," and analyzed the results of. There was one in the content area of math, and one in the area of reading. Based on the results, I made suggestions for next steps in the students' instruction. I also included my thoughts on the content and effectiveness of the CBA.
Connection to Standard:
This addresses standard 7G: "Understands how to make data-driven decisions using assessment results to adjust practices to meet the needs of each student." This activity was a way of practicing this concept, as I interpreted data results and determined possible next instructional steps for the student.
What I learned:
I was able to learn that pre-made assessments may not always be suitable for students. It is important to analyze them ourselves to determine if it will accurately assess students' knowledge.
Artifact Description:
This is an assignment that I completed for a class, in which I created two goals for a made up student, and created possible assessments that would measure that goal.
Connection to standard:
This connects to standard 7K: "Appropriately uses a variety of formal and informal assessments to evaluate the understanding, progress, and performance of an individual student and the class as a whole." In this assignment, I listed multiple types of formal and informal assessments that could be used to address the goal.
What I learned:
I learned that there are multiple ways to assess progress in a student's goal, and some ways may be more suitable than others.
