Amy Leskowski and Ginnie Gorback are celebrating their birthdays! As a gift to all of us, they put together a contest. They each gave a great list of words and the challenge was to use at least one word from each list in a 100 word or less story. Here is my entrie!
The Pineapple Predicament
By Aundra Tomlins
Monkey had a conundrum. He wanted to eat the pineapple, but he couldn’t get past the spiny skin.
“What if I roll it?” Monkey pushed the prickly pineapple. “Ouch!”
“Hmmm,” mumbled Turtle.
“What if I kicked it?” Monkey punted the pokey pineapple. “Zowie!”
“Huh,” thought Turtle.
“I could smash it!” Monkey tried to lift it, but it was too heavy.
“Harumph!” Monkey glared.
“Ahh,” Turtle meandered away.
Turtle ambled back with Anteater.
Monkey jumped up, “I don’t want to share!”
“Help.” muttered Turtle.
Anteater took his long claws and sliced the bristly bumps, yellow sticky juice dripped.
“Share,” said Turtle.
