Vecbox is the first by far and the only hackerspace in Ramallah and East Jerusalem that aims to help empower communities through the use of technology. The VecBox team consists of a group of Palestinian technologists and academics seeking to upgrade the Palestinian society to a global level of technological awareness. Our aim is to build a community that will take concepts of technology for social good and converts them from theory to actual practice. We will provide access to knowledge and tools by offering a space that will enable both the tech community and individuals interested in tech solutions to engage, learn, and build for change.
Supervised a two weeks journey of up-cycling workshop. It took place in Ramallah and offered a shared experience to six students. An intercultural, interdisciplinary team from Germany, France, and Palestine, created an exhibition about up-cycling products and against throwaway culture hosted at Goethe Institute in Ramallah.
Directed a summer Maker Camp for kids to build a community for young Makers that are interested in DIY, making, creating, crafting, hacking, tinkering, and learning.
I conducted multiple workshops about Design, interactivity, and programming within Vecbox space and also in different countries like Jordan, Germany, and Colombia.
One of the most important projects that I worked on in Vecbox was a smart artificial limb, that is based on machine learning where the limb can predict the user movement from reading the muscle movement via EMG sensors. I had a panel about it in Re:Publica 2016 (Link)
