Interviews: Several interviews were conducted to collect data from immigrants and refugees. That gave a depth in understanding the needs of the immigrants regarding preserving their identity. That will give them a proper tool for transferring their identity and religion to their children who get born in the new countries that they moved to it.
Joint research project for religious robots between Siegen University in Germany and Waseda University in Tokyo. The Islamic robot is the third robot of the collection. It is designed for immigrants and refugees to integrate into new and different societies as well as it helps in preserving the religious and cultural identity. Qualitative data was collected to get more understanding about the religion and what is the real need of the immigrants and refugees that moved to non-muslim countries recently. I designed the 3D model and the interaction of the robot.
A screen will be integrated into the robot and touch sensors will be hidden underneath the model of the holy book. Also, the mechanism of the robot will allow it to rotate to the direction of Mecca that allows the users to know in which direction they need to pray.
