Readings and Handouts from Elena Aguilar:
Self Reflection Survey Done During Session
Modified Tuning Protocol (linked on survey) that will be used in breakouts to provide feedback during session #4 on 2/11. The feedback is for the 10 minute Zoom facilitation agenda/plan each participant is creating for practice during sessions #5 (2/25) and #6 (3/11).
Here are two examples of ideas that could be 10 minute practice sessions for the main breakout practice event in session #5 and #6. It is your chance to PRACTICE using Zoom tools and also facilitating adult conversation on Zoom. Feel free to base your plan on one of these two OR build your very own!
Please not: These examples have two different goals. How do they differ?
EXAMPLE 1. Showing the group a new technology tool:
Introduce yourself
Tell the group you are about to share an idea for how to use a tool
Ask the group if they have used it or heard of it (raise hand for yes, or?)
Share screen to show the tool in use - Go slowly and repeat.
Put link to access tool into chat
Have the group go to the link
Give group quick prompt to engage in with tool
Wrap up by asking group how they could see using the tool (share out or chat or?)
EXAMPLE 2. Gathering ideas for taking students outside:
Introduce yourself
Show a picture of students outside
Facilitate a short conversation about the benefits of taking students outside
Create a Padlet and put link in chat
Have group post as many experiences they remember of learning outside and encourage posting of pictures. Share screen to show how to use Padlet
Facilitate conversation around how to group these around themes and trends
Wrap up by sharing another picture of students outside and a quote or final remark about learning on the land
