Undergraduate
We will organize one lecture series for undergraduate students per year given by guest speakers and including some two/three hour series of lectures accompanied by exercise/discussion sessions. The past/current/future events can be found here.
We will offer summer support to up to five undergraduate students each year, to dedicate themselves to research topic classes or REU activities with our group. Possible topics include representation theory of finite groups (including modular Representation Theory), Crystals, Quivers, computational aspects of Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry, elementary Intersection Theory. More information can be found here.
We will offer at least one semester-long advanced class per year at the upper undergraduate level. Lecture notes and class schedule can be found at the following link.
The Northeastern Math Club is a place where students interested in mathematics can get together and further explore mathematics outside of a classroom setting. We have weekly meetings which consist of a mix of both open discussions and talks given by professors, graduate students, and also some undergraduates. Please contact us at northeasternmathclub@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to be added to our email list.
We will develop a mentoring program involving Math majors planning careers in mathematics or mathematics education. Current opportunities are in connection with Northeastern University’s Bridge to Calculus program. These mentors will introduce the Bridge to Calculus students to college life, as well as develop their mathematical skills. At the same time, the mentors will acquire familiarity with the Bridge to Calculus program and further enhance their own teaching and mathematics skills. More information for interested students can be found here.
