Amanda Bonino is a passionate advocate for disability rights and inclusion, currently serving as the President of the Disability Student Union at Rowan University. With a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), she has earned multiple certifications, including the Foundations of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Antiracist Pedagogy & Practices, and NeuroInclusive Campus Certification, which inform her leadership approach. Recognized as the 2024 DEI Champion within the Graduate Student Government Association, Amanda emphasizes the importance of inclusive practices in education.
As the Graduate Coordinator of Accessibility Services & The Center for Neurodiversity as well as a PATH Intern, Amanda has utilized her creativity in improving student access by allocating resources via community outreach and donation support efforts. In addition, Amanda has assisted in addressing food insecurity amongst Neurodiverse Students at Rowan & has worked hard to implement the Cereal & Snack Bar at the Center for Neurodiversity. She also improved the accessibility for students with various disabilities through programs like Fresh For All, ensuring equitable access to resources. Amanda plans to work with Organizations such as Eagles for Autism & CARES Programs facilitated by local Family-Owned Businesses that align with Neurodiversity Inclusion.
Her leadership roles include organizations such as Delta Alpha Pi and RDSU, along with her participation in Alpha, Alpha Alpha First Generation Honor Society & future induction into Alpha Epsilon Lambda. In addition, Amanda has certifications in BLS/CPR/First Aid/AED, QPR Suicide Prevention Training, & 200-hour Accessible Yoga. These attributes enhance her ability to promote wellness and support within the student community.
Amanda's extensive volunteer experience reflects a dedication to creating an accessible and supportive environment Beyond Rowan University. As Student Body President of the Disability Student Union, She focuses on improving disability representation and increasing campus accessibility. In addition to advocacy, Amanda has been a Team Leader in fundraising efforts for suicide prevention through AFSP Walks & Profs for a Purpose. She also leads sustainability initiatives, emphasizing community engagement and environmental stewardship. Through these experiences, She aims to cultivate an inclusive campus culture where every student can thrive.
