The advisory board shall be a faculty, staff, and graduate students at Rowan University who is committed to assisting the Rowan Disability Student Union in its effort to fulfill its mission and vision.
The advisory board shall have shared interests and shall act in accordance with those interests.
The advisory board shall be a member of the disability community or ally to the community at large, defined broadly unless extenuating circumstances prove this not plausible, but all efforts should be made to have an advisor who is a member of the disability community.
The advisory board shall serve as a guide, counselor, and supporter, as well as a go-between Rowan Disability Student Union and Rowan staff, faculty, and/or administration when necessary.
The advisory board shall meet with the executive board at least once a semester.
The advisory board shall serve as a tie-breaker in votes, and shall thus be present when votes are planned to take place.
The level of involvement and the specific responsibilities are to be determined and redetermined by Rowan Disability Student Union members, executive board, and the advisory board on an individualized basis so long as Rowan Disability Student Union’s success and the well being of all parties is prioritized in decision making.
