Voters who don't have permanent addresses have several options for registration:

- They can use the address of a shelter if that is where they stay (Transitions is at 2025 Main St, Columbia, SC 29201, and Oliver Gospel is at 1100 Taylor St., Columbia, SC 29201. And there are others).
- If not living in a shelter or other address, they can use the address of the County Elections office if they're in Richland County (2020 Hampton St., Columbia, SC, 29204). For other counties, check with that office.
- They can NOT use a PO Box address for either their residence or their mailing address.
- They will need a government-issued photo ID, which they can get at the County Elections Office or the Highway Department.
