Kinetic Interactive Installation

This kinetic installation involves elements that are rotating around their center in a systematic harmony by the power of electricity. Each one of the circles rotates with a different speed and direction. This motion transfers the poem written on them into a wordless open semantic form and there comes a vacuum of meaning, which is left for the reader to fill in and interpret. The poem is the beginning part of The Divan of Hafez's book that I wrote it inspired by Siah Mashq calligraphy of Iran. This work tries to modernize old elements of Persian literature and the art of Iran. These forms rotate with circular and fluid motion to prove to us By passing time, Noting seems as it did before.

The poem in Persian:

الا يا ايها الساقى ادركاساً وناول‌ها

كه عشق آسان نمود اول ولى افتاد مشكل‌ها

The poem translated in English:

Ho! O Saki! Pass around and offer the bowl (of love for God)For (the burden of) love (for God) at first (on the day of the covenant) appeared easy, but (now) difficulties have occurred.
