Not less than 17 years old and not yet 23 by September 1 of the year starting college.
Must not have reached 27th birthday upon graduation and commissioning.
Applicants with prior military service may be eligible for age adjustments for amount of time equal to their prior service, on month-by-month basis, for maximum of 36 months, if they will not reach their 29th birthday upon commissioning.
High school graduation or equivalency certificate by August 1 of year of entrance into four-year Navy ROTC Scholarship program.
Must have less than 30 semester credits (for 30 or more credits look at 2 & 3 year Scholarships)
Applicants must have no criminal record of military or civilian offenses pending or federal convictions. (No Open Court Cases)
No moral obligations or personal convictions that prevent conscientious bearing of arms and supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic or to taking an oath to perform such acts.
Medically qualified by Navy standards.
You must not have any body piercing or tattoos that violate Navy policy.
The following Tattoos are not permitted
Gang Related
Sexually Explicit
Racially Explicit
Content of an illegal nature such as drug insignia or offensive language
Any tattoo visible above the collar of a uniform shirt that is larger than 1 inch x 1 inch
Any tattos on the face or extend into the hairline/scalp except tasteful cosmetic tattoos (eyebrows, eyeliner, eye shadow)
Active duty Navy applicants are ineligible to apply for Navy ROTC.
Active members of other branches of the military to include the Navy Reserves may apply if granted a conditional release.
Individuals who are scheduled for boot camp may apply but cannot report to boot camp before a decision is made on their application.
If they wish to report to boot camp prior to a decision being made they must withdraw their application in writing.
Must be a Navy Option applicant (Marine Corps and Nurse Corps Option applicants are not eligible).
Must successfully receive nomination from MSI to be considered for the MSISR scholarship.
Valid Test Dates for the 2022 Scholarship Year are Dec 2019 to Dec 2021.
Qualifying scores on Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT)
Any combination of scores, regardless of test type, can be utilized to achieve the minimum test scores of each category.
Applicants must apply to one of the NROTC affiliated MSIs, if not currently enrolled.
Applicants must be admitted to the MSI in order to use their scholarship if selected.
Same basic requirements as the National scholarship with the following additional requirements;
Must have at least 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) but no more than 120 semester hours (180 quarter hours).
Must have a minimum college GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale).
Must be admitted to or in process of gaining admittance to school affiliated with the Navy ROTC Unit from which they are being nominated.
