Transition Leadership
Transition Leadership
My Personal Career Plan
It is important for transition specialists to remain cognizant of their strengths, challenges, and professional interest to ensure they are up to date on the available resources and opportunities for the services we are able to provide. I have included my personal action plan to ensure that I am providing the services and training needed to remain relevant in the ever evolving world of transition services.
Student directed IEPs are essential to a student understanding themselves and being able to present themselves competitively in post secondary environments.
Since teachers are planning educational programming and lessons, it is essential they understand what transitioning to post-secondary environments entail.
Helping our students experience the workforce they are transitioning to is essential to their independence. Working experiences during high school gives a student the best indicators of postsecondary success.
Mentor Minutes
I have included notes and feedback from my mentor. She is experienced in the field and has been essential to my professional development. Under her leadership, I have been able to learn how to navigate the world of transition services and how to grow and remain relevant as a professional. I have included notes and minutes from soem of our interactions and also some written feedback about my underlying philosophies within this profession.
