Dogs are permitted on the Robin Hood Allotment Site provided they are handled responsibility.
Members are responsible for any dogs brought onto the site by themselves or their guests.
Condition of Use No. 8 requires that:
N.B. The Government defines the term "under control" as meaning "on a lead held by someone strong enough to restrain the dog".
The Robin Hood Allotment Site is owned by Gedling Borough Council.
The Council takes the mess caused by irresponsible dog owners failing to clear-up after their dogs and remove dog fouling.
The Council has advised the Robin Hood Allotment Association that the Council will enforce the the powers it has against those causing dog fouling.
Gedling Borough Council has the power to issue Fixed Penalty Notices of £50 per dog fouling incident.
If the matter is taken to Court, the Maximum Fine is £1,000.

"Members shall not cause nuisance or annoyance to any other member, to local householders or any members of the public, by encroaching upon or entering another plot, by obstruction, lighting bonfires outside designated times, by noise (including barking dogs), radios, etc. Children on site shall be supervised at all times by an adult and remain on the adult’s plot unless invited by other plot holders. Dogs shall be under control and remain on the dog owner’s own allotment while working. Any fouling to be removed and disposed of appropriately by the tenant."
