Scratch allows teachers with teacher accounts to set up classes of students. Scratch doesn't allow teachers to move students between classes. When a class is ended, students can no longer access those accounts.
Raleigh Hills K-8 student accounts are housed under the RHK8_Tech Scratch account. Each grade has its own "class." As the students matriculate each year, the name of the class changes but the students stay the same. This makes it easy for students to learn from past projects and keep accounts for more than one year.
Each elementary class has a standard Google Drawing template to make it easy to filter individual classrooms of students within the larger grade level class.
After students complete this task they will also have experience with a skill that will be useful when they start adding their own pictures to projects.

- Log into your scratch account.
- go to Avatarmaker.com to make an appropriate avatar to represent yourself online
- This could be seen by anyone. Make sure it's appropriate.
- Download the avatar to your computer.
- Bottom Right of the window, click download --> 400 x 400 png.
- Find your class below. Make a copy of the Google Drawings template in your Google Drive.
- Add your avatar to the template.
- Click insert --> image -->(blue box in middle) Upload Image.
- Change the order on your picture to make sure the other stuff on the template and the background shows.
- Right click (or two-finger click) on your picture in the Google Drawing. Click Order --> Desktosend to back.
- Download the avatar to your computer.
- Click File --> Download as --> PNG image.
- Upload the avatar to your scratch account.
- Edit the "About You" and "What your working on" sections. Don't over-share. It's public.
- Help someone else.
- When everyone's done, play in Scratch
