Mobile Makerspace Experiences

Each class at Raleigh Hills elementary is visited by our Mobile Makerspace cart on a rotation. These lessons allow for creative exploration of science and engineering concepts in collaboration with other students. They are designed to engender feelings of empowerment for students to use the technology they are surrounded by on a daily basis.

Last year, we explored a lot:

• LED's & Batteries (K-5)
• Using simple circuits to build LED Flashlights (K, 3-5)
• Breadboards K-5)
• Make Makey Circuits (1-5)
• Storytelling in Scratch Jr. (K-3)
• Coding for sensors with Lego WeDo 1.0 (K-5)
• Google Drawings to make Informational Writing Posters (4th)
• Scratch (4th)
• 3D Design (5th)
