Abstract
For a long time, deaf people had their rights to education and use of Sign Language restricted by society. A practice that helps in the education of the deaf is Bilingualism, in which it treats Sign Language as the first language and Portuguese as the second language. Seeking to know the reality of this education, this article aimed to analyze the teaching processes of deaf children in the early years of elementary school in the city of Natal and in the metropolitan region. In order to achieve this, the specific objectives are: to characterize the resources and methodologies used in schools, to report the knowledge of education professionals on bilingualism and to identify the main needs of remote education with deaf children. The methodology used for the production of the research was a quantitative approach, carried out through an online questionnaire, aimed at education professionals working with deaf students. The article presents the data obtained from the research as well as the speeches and positions of the professionals about the themes. Within the current pandemic context of COVID-19, remote education and its implications were also highlighted in the research. Jéssica Maria Amorim de Carvalho
Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte
Abstract
Studies on socio-emotional intelligence show their influence on basic education and the growing need for pedagogical practices that work with children's emotions, in order to provide a look at the integral development of individuals. This study aims to describe the concept of emotional intelligence and the perspective of elementary school teachers. The work is a qualitative research, which uses questionnaires applied via google forms as a data collection instrument, as well as a bibliographic survey that made it possible to relate what the theorists say with the respondents' answers. Ten teachers of basic education who work or have worked in the 1st year of Elementary School participated in the research. In the study we list themes related to socioemotional education, such as the meaning of Emotional Intelligence; the relationship between emotional skills and the transition from early childhood education to primary education I; the emotional dimensions in teacher-child and child-child relationships; the emotional skills assessed in the students' reports; and the family-school relationship and its connection with Emotional Intelligence. We understand that pedagogical practices concerning socioemotional education have been being designed for some time, however, when the term Emotional Intelligence was created, these actions gained greater notoriety. We infer that in the face of such a fast-paced society, which is constantly changing, it is essential to have a different look at the emotions in the classroom, at the subjectivities of the students, especially in the transition from Early Childhood Education to Elementary School I, in which there is a sudden change in methodologies.

Social and affective development in early childhood: teachers' conceptions
Iara Rayane Ribeiro Lopes
Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte
Abstract
Teachers' conceptions interfere with pedagogical practices in different educational contexts. Thus, this study aims to analyze teachers' conceptions about social and affective development in early childhood in the context of early childhood education. The qualitative research took place in a Municipal Center for Early Childhood Education, which is located in the city of Natal / RN. To support data collection, the following instruments were used: semi-structured questionnaires and the field diary to record the observation of the practice of teachers who are responsible for nursery classes II and Level I, attending children between 1 year and 6 months to 3 years and middle of age. The data show teachers' speeches on the part of teachers based on common sense about the affectivity associated with expressions of affection in early childhood education and do not present the interfaces cognition, affectivity and motor skills evidenced in Wallon's psychology. The study concludes that gaps in the initial training process, as well as the dilemmas in the continuing training processes, can interfere in the constitution of such conceptions in which the affective processes are strictly interconnected to words and situations that refer only to the care and affection dedicated to the child in the family and school context.

Conceptions of emotional education and pedagogical coordination
Lanúbia Karlla Oliveira Vale de Souza
Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte
Abstract
Traditionally, the school is the main space to develop the human being's cognitive. But, in the face of a society more and more complex and of little time destined to inter and intra-personal emotional work, the school became a space also for the management of emotions. Knowing this, it is necessary to fully train the student, so that he/she not only prioritizes the cognitive, but also the emotional, subjective and social side of the individual. For this reason, this article aims to describe the concepts of emotional education and the work of pedagogical coordination for the development of socio-emotional skills at school. For that purpose, a bibliographic survey and a case study were carried out, the data collection instrument was an open questionnaire made available electronically to pedagogical coordinators. The search to know the coordinators' vision about the importance of socio-emotional skills in the school and the actions carried out by them to achieve the integral formation of the students was what allowed them to reach the objectives of the research that served as a basis for this article. As a conclusion of the study, it is understood that although they are integrated with the proposal of socio-emotional skills, there is not total involvement of the coordination for this demand, including with regard to continued training for teachers, in view of the numerous (other) assignments proposed for these professionals.
